(Required for Students Enrolled since Academic Year 112, i.e., August 2023)

No later than the end of the semester prior to the degree exam, or by the university-wide course add/drop period deadline of the semester of the degree exam (or earlier, as specified by GIAC).

Students must log in to the “Thesis/Dissertation and Advisor Information System” to register their thesis title and research objectives.

A “Recognition Form for Academic Field of Expertise” must be submitted to confirm that the thesis topic aligns with GIAC’s academic focus areas. (Applications for the degree examination are not permitted without passing the review.)

The Institute Office will forward the thesis to the Institute Academic Committee for evaluation to determine whether it conforms to the Institute’s areas of expertise. If the thesis is deemed non-compliant, the student will be required to revise and make the necessary improvements. Students who fail to submit the thesis for review within the prescribed deadline will not be eligible to apply for the degree examination in that semester. After the review, if partial changes to the research topic or research objectives are necessary, such changes may still be made through the thesis system.

Submission deadline: No later than the end of the semester preceding the dissertation defense, or before the University-wide course add/drop deadline of the semester in which the defense takes place (or earlier, as stipulated by GIAC regulations).

Students failing to complete this process will be ineligible to apply for the degree examination.
