Dr. Min-Fan Ricky Lee received his Ph.D. and Master degree from Cornell University, USA in 1996 and 1991 respectively. His Ph.D. dissertation, “An intelligent computer vision control and target tracking system design of an agricultural grapevine pruning robot”, received the national design gold award USA. Dr. Lee is currently the assistant professor at the graduate institute of automation and control in the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology since 2007. He was the research officer in the National Research Council Canada from1998 to 2007 and the research scientist at the department of mechanical engineering in the University of British Columbia, Canada from 1996 to 1998. He is currently the chair of automation and control program in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He has been the member of grant selection committee-computing and information sciences at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Canada. The Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Vancouver Section, IEEE Canada and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award for that service. His active research projects are “disaster monitoring and rescue using autonomous aerial mobile robot”, “home Care Automation: robotic assistance at home for elderly and disabled people” and “autonomous mobile robot on monitoring remoter environment toxins sensing”. He had around 60 publications in the area of intelligent control system, visual servo control and mobile robot. He has been awarded four times the grants from the Taiwan government international commission (academic and diplomatic) since 2007. Dr. Lee is endowed the title of “International Taiwan Youth Ambassador” by the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in September 30, 2011. |
